As part of the global renewable energy infrastructure, the DASU Hydropower Project on the Indus River represents one of the most critical high-head, large-flow hydroelectric installations worldwide. In utility-scale hydropower generation, the turbine governor actuation system demands absolute hydraulic reliability: in the event of grid rejection or sudden load loss, emergency accumulator banks must instantly deliver immense volumetric hydraulic power to stroke the turbine guide vanes and intake main inlet valves (MIV) into a failsafe position, preventing catastrophic overspeed.

SCHWERLL manufactured and supplied specialized high-pressure piston accumulator systems engineered for the severe dynamic duty of turbine governor actuation:
- Design Code & Certification: Fully engineered and stamped in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1, carrying the official ASME “U” Stamp.
- Traceability: Every individual vessel is certified and registered online with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NB).
- Dynamic Performance: Piston velocity capability exceeding 3.5 m/s, ensuring rapid fluid displacement without cavitation or seal blow-by during emergency tripping.
- Fluid Media Compatibility: High-integrity polyurethane and low-friction PTFE-compound seal packages compatible with fire-resistant and standard mineral hydraulic fluids.
