Project Context: Heavy-Duty Steel Extrusion Metallurgy
Extrusion presses for high-temperature refractory alloys, stainless steels, and nickel-based corrosion-resistant tubulars require instantaneous, surge-free hydraulic power delivery at pressures exceeding 31.5 MPa. Zhejiang Jiuli Special Material Co., Ltd., a premier global manufacturer of special stainless and nickel alloy tubing, partnered with Italy’s Danieli Group for their next-generation heavy steel extrusion press line.
The SCHWERLL Engineering Solution
SCHWERLL won the international bidding for the primary piston accumulator energy storage station, undertaking complete structural design, precision vessel manufacturing, safety control manifolds, and onsite installation guidance:
- Massive Volumetric Capacity: The complete energy storage station features a total gas/liquid capacity of 3,200 Liters, comprised of multiple parallel high-pressure piston accumulator vessels with single-cylinder capacities up to 750 Liters.
- Structural Magnitude: With a combined vertical assembly height approaching 10 meters, the vessel bank represents one of the largest specialized accumulator installations deployed in domestic metallurgical extrusion.
- High-Speed Extrusion Actuation: Provides immediate fluid displacement to drive the main press ram at high extrusion velocity, smoothing hydraulic shockwaves and preventing metallurgical crystallization defects during billet deformation.
Manufacturing & Quality Assurance
Manufactured under strict TSG 21-2016 pressure vessel regulations, all cylinders underwent ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MT), and 1.5x design pressure hydrostatic proof inspection before dispatch.
